New York is a pretty sweet little city. I love, love, love the subway system and being able to walk everywhere. I stayed in Queens at Brian's apartment (Thanks Bri!!!), and i really like his neighborhood, lots of great shops all within a few blocks and the old architecture is fantastic. I feel like I'm on the set of newsies again. =) He's also got a great view of Manhattans skyline from his window. That being said i don't think i could live in most parts of Manhattan. Walking on the streets between all the ginormous buildings blocking the sun really starts to depress me after a while. I need my sunshine!!
Day 1 Brian, KJ, and me did some site seeing. Walked around Soho, rode the Staten island ferry, viewed the crumbling (figuratively, not literally) finance district... where we ran into Paul!! Well..... we were walking past his apartment, but its still fun to run into people. We picked him up and headed to the lower east side to meet Evan for happy hour and a slice of real NY pizza. Which was absolutely delicious by the way. Me and Evan ended up partying like Rock Stars, staying out till 3am, going to I don't know how many bars, and even singing Karaoke. They don't call it the city that never sleeps for nothing!
Day 2 I slept in a bit late... understandably so... and spent the rest of the afternoon walking around Central Park and the Met. The Met is pretty impressive. I spent about two hours getting lost in there and i don't even think i saw half of it. I met Brian and KJ for dinner in the city.. we wanted to go ice skating in the park but it closed an hour earlier then we thought it did. Hopefully it will still be open in 6 weeks.
